86 uninsured motor claims recorded locally last year

A total of 86 motor insurance claims relating to uninsured or untraced drivers were recorded locally last year.

That’s according to new figures released by the Motor Insurers’ Bureau of Ireland (MIBI). This represents an increase of 29% from the 68 claims recorded throughout Cavan and Monaghan in 2016.

Last year, 49 motor insurance claims relating to uninsured or untraced drivers were recorded in Cavan compared to 42 in 2016. 37 motor insurance claims were made in County Monaghan last year compared to 2016.
