Cavan and Monaghan are to benefit from €450,000 in funding under the Music Generation scheme.
The programme, which is part funded by U2, as well as The Ireland Funds and the Department of Education, was set up in 2010 to help children and young people access music classes and tuition.
€450,000 has been allocated to Cavan and Monaghan, with the local Music Education Partnership, ETB and County Councils matching funding over the period of the programme.
It’s expected that Music Generation Cavan/Monaghan will be up and running by this time next year.
