A Carrickmacross group home for people with physical and sensory disabilities is still not in use, despite having been completed a year ago.
Parents and siblings of those who will benefit from the facility have been campaigning for 14 years to get the resource in Carrickmacross.
It’s believed that now, even though the building is complete, funding has not been allocated for the management of the service.
Local MEP Matt Carthy has again written to Health Minister Simon Harris calling for his personal intervention to ensure that the facility is opened as a matter of urgency.
He says that for those who really need it, the situation is difficult to stomach:
