The woman in her 50’s who died after she was hit by a car near Castleblayney, in Co.Monaghan, yesterday has been named as Mona Frances Clarke (nee O’Duffy).
The incident happened on the N2 Kinnagin, between Castleblayney and Carrickmacross shortly after 1pm.
The Castleblayney woman was taken by helicopter to hospital in dublin, but was later pronounced dead.
Meanwhile, the road has reopened and gadaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything to contact them at Castleblayney Garda Station on 042 9740668.
