A public meeting will be held tomorrow evening to discuss Minister Denis Naughton’s intention to approve a licence for an Australian Mining Company to explore for metals in County Cavan.
The company sought to attain a licence to prospect for potentially valuable minerals in the Belturbet – Ballyconnell area.
The company, BMEx PTY LTD was set up in October 2016 and if successful, it will hold the prospecting licence in the West Cavan area for up to six years.
People concerned have until Saturday October 7th to raise their objections to the Department for Communications.
The meeting will take place tomorrow evening, Thursday October 5th in Belturbet Town Hall at 8pm.
