Cavan and Monaghan have some of the lowest rates of broadband connections

Monaghan has been ranked first in all of Ireland for Enterprise Ireland supported jobs.

That’s according to a new report by Ibec called ‘Doing Business Locally’.

The report states that enterprise agencies are a crucial part of attracting and retaining investment in the different regions of Ireland, as they work with Irish businesses to help them start, grow and innovate.

Cavan also ranked well for Enterprise Ireland supported jobs, coming in third.

However, both counties rank poorly when it comes to high speed broadband.

According to the report just 42 per cent of premises in Monaghan had connectivity last year – the fourth worst in all of Ireland.

43 per cent of premises in Cavan last year had connectivity – the sixth worst in the whole country.
