Counties Cavan and Monaghan are set to receive over half a million euro under the Disabled Persons Grant Scheme.
Minister for Housing Eoghan Murphy has approved funding of €12million nationally as part of the initiative.
Cavan County Council will receive over €350,000 (€353,709) while Monaghan County Council has been granted over €175,000 (€175,854).
The Disabled Persons Grant Scheme provides funding for extensions and adaptations to existing social housing stock such as grab rails, disabled access ramps, wet rooms and house extensions.
The scheme also provides funding for Improvement Works in Lieu in order to improve or extend privately owned accommodation where the occupant is already approved for social housing, reducing the strain on current social housing stock.
