Cavan and Monaghan see dramatic increase in average rents

Cavan and Monaghan have seen a dramatic increase in average rents but the number of properties available to rent across the country has fallen to its lowest level since records began.

The latest report from property website Daft.ie shows rents across the country are up by almost 12 percent to the end of June.

Monaghan has the highest rent in the local area, with it seeing a rise of 12.1 per cent when compared with the same period last year.

It now stands at an average of €683.

Cavan, meanwhile, saw a rise of 11.3 per cent and it now stands at an average of €639.
