A school in Cavan is set to benefit from an upgrade worth almost 1 million euro.
Castletara National School is undergoing a major refurbishment, which will comprise of 3 new autism units and ancillary rooms, a new classroom, and refurbishment of the sports hall.
While the school has already been allocated significant funding for the project, as well as undertaking a massive fundraising campaign themselves, – additional funding in the region of €175 thousand has just been allocated from the Department of Education.
Work is currently underway at the school with the new classrooms expected to be operational for September.
Local Fianna Fáil Deputy Brendan Smith says the investment is very welcome.
