Cavan Tidy Towns are urging the community to get out and get involved this weekend in their Cavan Town Spring Litter Clean Up Day.
It’s all in preparation for this year’s Tidy Towns competition, which is now in its 59th year.
Skeeries in County Dublin took the top spot last year for being Ireland’s Tidiest Town, but the Cavan Tidy Town Committee is hoping for gold this year.
They’re encouraging all members of the community, regardless of age, ability or interests to help out with the Cavan town clean-up day this Saturday from 9am.
Adjudications this year take place in June and are completed by mid-August.
Paddy Sexton of the Cavan Tidy Towns Committee says the problem with litter in Cavan is people throwing rubbish out their car windows.
