Clones residents could be set to face further water disruptions

Further water disruptions could be on the cards for Clones residents.

Irish Water have stated that “specialised equipment” is required to fix a leak that’s been causing water interruption in the town.

In response to a query by local Sinn Fein councillor Pat Treanor, Irish Water explained that they’ve been trying to locate a leak by doing step testing at night.

They state that while the water is restored at about 4am each morning when the step testing is finished, the O’Neill Park and Carn Heights areas were the last to recharge because of their relative height.

A leak has been located and will be fixed within the next day or two however the uncertainty relates to the difficult location of the leak.
