Four arrested in operation tackling counterfeit goods at Fermanagh markets

Four people were arrested in the border area of Fermanagh at the weekend in an operation tackling counterfeit goods.

Counterfeit clothing was seized at a market on the Swanlinbar Road in Mullan, close to the border, on Sunday (Sept 3).

A 49 year old man was arrested on suspicion of displaying counterfeit goods for sale – he was released on bail pending further inquiries by the PSNI.

Meanwhile on Saturday (Sept 2), Police arrested two men aged 64 and 19 and a 49 year old woman in a market in the Newtownbutler area.

They were arrested on suspicion of a number of offences, including displaying items for sale in breach of trading standards, trading counterfeit goods and fraudulently using a trade mark.
