Four local agricultural shows will benefit from Government funding

Four local agricultural shows are set to benefit from Government funding in 2019.

The Arva, Castleblayney, Tydavnet and Virginia Shows have been allocated €5,000 each.

The funding was announced by the Minister for Rural and Community Development Michael Ring with approximately 120 agricultural shows across the country to benefit from a total of €600,000.

Membership of the Irish Shows Association is required in order to qualify to get funding.

In a statement to Shannonside/Northern Sound News, Minister Michael Ring stated that agricultural shows are a great celebration of rural culture which contribute significantly to the local economies of towns and villages.
