The future of direction of the North – South Interconnector is firmly in the hands of TD’s and the Government.
That’s the view of Fianna Fail Councillor Seamus Coyle who has expressed his ‘outrage’ at An Bord Pheanala’s approval of the Eirgrid application.
The controversial plans got approval from An Bord Pleanala before Christmas, after a 12 week oral hearing into the project was held during the summer.
The project would see a connection being made between the electricity grids on both sides of the border and involves pylons being built across Cavan, Monaghan, Meath and counties in the North.
Councillor Seamus Coyle says it’s time for political action from all parties.
