HEAR MORE: Elderly people don't have to struggle with odd jobs anymore

Elderly people are being reminded that they don't have to feel overwhelmed by unfinished odd-jobs.

Helping Hands is a free minor repair and odd job service for vulnerable older people and people with disabilities living in Co. Monaghan.

The project which started in 2011 is run by Monaghan Integrated Development and uses a pool of Garda vetted volunteers to do the work.

The organisation is seeking more volunteers and is also urging more elderly people to avail of the service.

Francis McCarron and Marina McKenna from the organisation joined Caroline Gauley on The Wider View and Francis started by explaining a bit more about what they do:
