It’s hoped Cavan and Monaghan will benefit from a new Competitive Regional Fund that’s expected to be launched by Government in the coming weeks.
Jobs Minister Mary Mitchell O’Connor is to launch the €60 million initiative, which it’s hoped will bolster jobs creation and enterprise across the country.
It comes as there are calls for more investment in the region to encourage foreign investment in Cavan and Monaghan and help to boost local businesses.
Local TD Brendan Smith is calling for investment in places like Mullagh and Virginia to build on technological infrastructure and attract businesses from Dublin.
