An investigation is underway after a woman was held hostage at a house in Dublin.
A replica firearm has been recovered.
Gardaí from Cabinteely were called to a house in Ballyogan Green at around 11.20 this morning due to a disturbance.
Gardai say a woman – in her 30’s – was being held hostage in a house by a man – in his 40’s.
The woman left the house unharmed a short time later.
Garda negotiators were in constant contact with the man and he left the house at around 3:30pm and was taken to hospital for treatment.
A number of Garda units attended the scene and the defence forces bomb disposal team was called as a precaution.
A replica firearm was recovered in the house and investigations are on-going.
