The government’s preparing for the return of a hard border in the wake of Brexit.
According to a report in The Irish Examiner today, Internal documents have shown that preparations are underway for a hard border including full ‘red and green channel’ checkpoints.
Currently, the Government are scouting out locations in the border region for checkpoints which suggests a departure from the Government’s stated strategy to protect the free flow of trade on the island.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show today, Political Editor with the Irish Examiner Daniel McConnell says that the government are losing their grasp on Brexit negotiations.
