The Irish Heart organisation has called on men from Cavan and Monaghan to get checked for high blood pressure.
The call comes following figures released from its mobile health unit service which shows over 470 people in Cavan and Monaghan availed of its free blood pressure checks.
The research found that more men than women had high blood pressure and that men were less likely to seek medical help to treat the condition.
Over 11,000 people were tested in 26 counties across the country.
Health Check Manager at Irish Heart is Marese Damery, she is encouraging more men to get checked for high blood pressure when Irish Hearts mobile health unit returns to the local region.
