Joe Ward has become the first Irishman to win a third World Boxing Elite Championship medal.
The 23 year old Westmeath fighter won his quarter final in Hamburg last night, to secure at least a bronze from this year’s tournament and will step into the ring again in the semi final on Friday evening looking to add a silver to the one he picked up in Doha 2 years ago while he secured a bronze in Almaty in 2013
