Kilnaleck woman describes operation wait as “frustrating and worrying”

A Kilnaleck woman who waited two years for a hip operation has described the wait as “frustrating and worrying”.

Shirley Comiskey was speaking after the 10-year Sláintecare plan, which was launched by the Health Minister Simon Harris, aims to re-shape the HSE to make it more accountable to the public.

It includes commitments to reduce hospital waiting times, increase bed capacity and to try to disconnect public and private healthcare.

Shirley spoke on today’s Joe Finnegan Show, she says she was relieved to get her hip operation but said the two year wait was not straight forward.
