People living in Monaghan will be the experts when it comes to the development of Rossmore Forest Park.
Around €450 thousand euro has been set aside to develop the park, which is located just outside of Monaghan town, and which is the former estate of the Rossmore family.
The Rossmore estate has played an important part in the history of Monaghan, and today the park boasts a number of walking trails, 8 lakes, fishing facilities, scenic views and historic landmarks.
The open consultation got underway in The Market House today at 3pm and will continue until 9pm for the public to give their views on the future development of Rossmore Forest Park as an amenity area.
James Hennessey from the Paul Hogarth Company says it’s important the park isn’t over developed.
