Local Senator criticises committee’s abortion vote

A local Senator says it’s disappointed an Oireachtas Committee voted not to recommend the retention of the Eight Amendment in full.

Diarmuid Wilson was speaking in the Seanad, where he said the committee should have waited to vote until all evidence had been heard.

Fine Gael moved the motion at a meeting last night, with Fianna Fail seconding.
