Longford man pleads guilty to several assaults in Cavan town last year

A Longford man has pleaded guilty to a number of assaults in Cavan town last year.

22 year old Patrick Donoghue from 3 Farrell’s Terrace in Granard pleaded guilty in Cavan Circuit Court recently. He pleaded to assaulting Seamus Farrell outside the 5th Avenue Bar in Cavan in July 2016.

He also admitted assaulting Roisin McGovern and Niall Melanaphy in the Townparks area of Cavan. Judge John Aylmer adjourned the case for sentencing at the next sittings of the Court in March and ordered the preparation of probation and psychiatric reports.
