Motorists raise issues with newly designed Ballinode/Scotstown road junction

Local motorists are having issues with the newly designed Ballinode/Scotstown road junction.

That’s the view of Sinn Féin Councillor Brian McKenna who raised the issue at the most recent Monaghan County Council meeting. The junction was redesigned to improve safety for motorists and pedestrians and saw the R186 road realigned to meet the N54 at a right angle in an attempt to give drivers a clearer view of approaching traffic.

Councillor Brian McKenna says a slip-lane for motorists heading towards Monaghan town from the junction would have been more suitable.
