Fianna Fail councillor Clifford Kelly has been appointed as chairman of the Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board.
The appointment was made at a meeting yesterday and Clifford will take over from outgoing CMETB chairman Sean McKiernan.
Kingscourt councillor Kelly says that the opening of the new Dun an Ri College in the town will be the highlight of the term.
Students will begin their studies in the new facility when it’s officially opened in October.
For the past year the students have been located in temporary accommodation while the new €15 million facility is being built.
