After nearly 20 years, the proposed new Fire Station in Virginia is now a step closer to construction.
Cavan County Council are now seeking tenders for the construction of the station.
Fianna Fáil Councillor Shane P O’Reilly has described the announcement as “momentous”.
Cavan County Council was granted planning permission to construct a new 2 bay fire station with a drill tower at Rahardrum in Virginia in August of 2016.
Councillor Shane P O’Reilly has welcomed the announcement.
