A new programme is to be established in County Cavan, which aims to bring local people and migrants together.
The ‘Fáilte Isteach’ project is looking for English speaking volunteers to engage in conversational English with new migrants in their communities in Cavan town and Ballyjamesduff.
The project involves volunteers spending two hours a week helping migrants learn English. The programme has already been rolled out successfully in other parts of the country, including in Monaghan. Colette Costello is one of the people behind the local ETB project, and she says there’s a need for a programme like this locally.
