It could be like searching for a needle in a hay stack-as local people continuing to hunt for the meteorite believed to have hit the ground at the town land of Crimlin near Cavan Town shortly before 6pm yesterday evening.
The space rock is said to be worth 500 dollars a gram. However, it is believed that once the rock hit the ground it could now be small enough to fit in the palm of your hand.
Before it landed, sources locally say they spotted a bright light in the sky -and its been described as a large bright, fire work which travelled at speed before descending to the ground.
However, the search continues-as it’s understood no one has actually found the meteorite since it landed in Crimilin.
People in the Northern Sound region who sighted the meteor yesterday evening are being asked to contact Astronomy Ireland.
