One of two vacant Inspector positions at Cavan Garda Station has been filled.

 

Inspector Seamus Boyle will now take up the role after being transferred on promotion from the Sligo/Leitrim Division.

 

The vacancies arose because of the moratorium on promotion within the public service.

 

But at the beginning of February Garda Commissioner Fachtna Murphy was given Cabinet approval to promote almost 150 mid-ranking officers.

 

A Garda spokesperson says it's hoped that the other vacancy in Cavan will be filled when the new promotions are finalised in the coming months.
