An exhibition is underway at the Market House in Monaghan to mark the anniversary. It portrays the vivid imagery of 9/11, captured by Dublin-born photographer Nicola McClean. Her husband Paul McCormack is a New York police officer, who was on-site that day. Speaking to Northern Sound, Paul recalls September 11th in New York 12 years ago.
Meanwhile, President Obama’s national security team is taking steps to prevent terrorist attacks related to today’s 12th anniversary of 9/11. The White House is refusing to disclose what steps are being taken – but says they have been reviewing security measures for months. Four Americans were killed in an attack on a U.S. outpost in Benghazi in Libya on the 9/11 anniversary last year.
