Night Navigation trial and National Tarmac championship make for busy weekend of motorsport

Monaghan Motor club will hold a night navigation trial tomorrow night (Saturday 25th) from the Creighton Hotel Clones.

First car away at 9pm..

As always timekeepers will be required and can make themselves known to the organisiers from 7pm .

The event is a counting round of the Monaghan Motor club championship.

On Sunday, the Triton Showers National Tarmac championship gets underway this Sunday with the Birr club hosting the Abbey court hotel Nenagh stages rally.

Donagh Kelly with Monaghan’s Conor Foley on the notes is seeded at number 1 in their Ford Focus WRC with defending champions Roy White and James O’Brien at 2 in their Ford Fiesta WRC.

Declan and Brian Boyle complete the top 3 also in a Fiesta WRC.

Niall Maguire is at 4 in his Subaru Impreza WRC with Sam Moffett at 5 in the Fiesta WRC.

Gary Mc Phillips is the top modified seed at number 9 in his class 14 Mark II Escort while Aidan Wray will lead of the Group N contingent at 12 in his  Mitsubishi Evo.

That class also includes Ballinodes Shane Maguire at 15.

Cavan’s Darren O Brien with John Mc Cabe on the notes will contest the Junior class in their Honda Civic and are seeded at number 2 behind Michael Boyle/Dermott McCafferty also in a civic.

The rally will consist of 4 stages been run twice with service after every 2..
