Nine local volunteers head to Haiti to build chicken farms

Nine local volunteers have left Dublin Airport on their journey to Haiti to build chicken farms.

The Manor Farm volunteers are from Cavan, Monaghan, Dublin, Kilkenny and Lithuania and will travel as part of a team for one week, building, training and meeting with local officials.

Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and one of the most poverty-stricken countries in the developing world.

Marketing Manager at Manor Farm Brendan Nolan says it’s the first time the company have travelled to the country.
