Residents of Kilnaleck will meet this morning over the planned closure of their post office

The residents of Kilnaleck are taking the next step in fighting the planned closure of their post office.

A public meeting was held recently and now residents will meet again at 10.30am today to sign a postcard which will be sent to An Post in a bid to highlight just how important the service is.

It was one of nine local branches that was outlined for closure at the start of last month.

Of the nine, Dartrey in County Monaghan and Swanlinbar in County Cavan have already closed.
