A resolution has been reached following an industrial dispute at Kerry Foods.
SIPTU members at the plant in Carrickmacross were balloted late last week and have now accepted an improved redundancy offer from the company. Kerry Foods say the redundancies are necessary to protect the viability of the plant, which it’s believed has suffered because of a volatile exchange rate with Sterling.
It’s believed the majority of the redundancies will now be taken up by staff at the plant who wish to retire. SIPTU representative Jim McVeigh says the resolution at the plant in Carrickmacross is good news for employees and their families.
