Sport Minister’s willing to resume funding the Olympics Council of Ireland

The Sport Minister’s willing to resume funding the Olympics Council of Ireland, provided its house is in order.

Shane Ross has been answering questions on the Moran Report into the Rio ticketing scandal.  Chairman of the Oireachtas Committee on Sport, Fergus O’Dowd on the unexpected legacy of the ticketing debacle last year.

The Sport Minister says the Moran Report into the affair has revealed a rotten culture at the heart of the OCI.  But he says he’s willing to restore funding to the beleaguered organisation, under certain circumstances.

The Committee was adjourned this afternoon, and will resume tomorrow morning.
