‘Staff-less libraries are an insult to the profession of a librarian’.
That’s the view of Sinn Fein Councillor Eugene Greenan who has criticised the idea which is set to come on stream in Cavan’s Johnston Central Library on Farnham Street.
The Minister of Housing and Local Government Simon Coveney has defended staff-less libraries saying they are not there to replace staff.
Councillor Greenan also has concerns around health and safety issues within the Library when unmanned.
