Tributes paid to chef Myrtle Allen

Myrtle Allen has been described as the “most important person in the history of Irish food”.

The founder of the Ballymaloe Hotel and Cookery School passed away today at the age of 94.

She’s survived by her 6 children, 22 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren, as well as her two famous inlaws Darina and Rachel.
