U17 Parteners come good in 2nd half to claim a draw

Athlone Town FC 2 MUCFP 2

The partners were well below par in the first half and Athlone raced

into a 2 nil at half time lead.

The partners responded well in the second half and Aaron McCabe pulled

one back in the 55th minute.

MUFCP continued to pile on the pressure and had a few penalty appeals waved away.

Paul O’ Grady in the partners goal was in fine form on a number of Athlone counter attacks.

In the dying minutes Harry Mallon played a through ball to the prolific

McCabe for his second of the game.

That brings his tally to 10 for the season, top scorer in the division.

Having been 2 nil down the lads will count this as positive result.

Derry City visit Gortakeegan next week in the last game before the mid

season break.
