‘It’s unfair justice wasn’t served for Jason’s death’

The brother of Jason McGovern says its unfair justice wasn’t served for his brother’s death.

Jason was found dead in his friend’s house in County Monaghan the morning after he was attacked on a night out in Omagh.  A man accused of the ‘one punch’ killing of the 19-year-old was acquitted of his manslaughter after three trials.

Jason’s brother Niall says it’s been hard for the family to get any closure on his death, as nobody has been held responsible for it.

Meanwhile Jason’s family are holding a memorial tractor run for Jason this weekend.

It’s the third year of the run, and last year it raised over €6,000 for local charities.

The tractor run leaves this Sunday at 2pm from Tydavnet – and all proceeds will go towards MS Ireland and the Alzheimer’s Society Threemilehouse.
