St Pats Tug of War club make it a Golden Double in China

The St. Pats tug of war team from Courtbane, Co. Louth have made it a double Gold in the International Club Men’s  Championship in the World Indoor Tug of War Championships in Xuzhou in China.

The first of the medals came in the 560KG weight with the winning team of Gary Conway, Hugh Óg Conway, Seán Conway, Michael Owen McGreehan, Liam Fitzpatrick, Gerald Porter, Tom Griffin and PJ Griffin and coached by Hugh Mór Conway overcoming Gaztedi from the Basque Country in the final

They then followed that up with a winning pull in the 640KG weight again the team of  Gary Conway, Hugh Óg Conway, Seán Conway, Michael Owen McGreehan, Martin Shields, Declan Griffin, Warren Conway and Ciarán Fitzpatrick and coached by Hugh Mór Conway proving to strong for their Chinese opponents from Angangshiye.

The club will now turn their attentions to the International part of the competition which takes place over Saturday and Sunday.
