  1. Dear Johnny was my uncle part of my childhood and growing up.Unmarried at the time he had a wonderful tolerance for his nephews from Cavan and made our annual holidays at Corawillen late mother Judy was very fond of her younger brother. It was not until later in life that I realised he was a legendary footballer, the last of a golden generation who made Cavan a byword for excellence in GAA football.Fot that alone Johnny is an immortal. But he will live forever in my mind as a delightful uncle and a wonderful man.May he Rest in Peace. My sincere sympathy to Auntie Anna and all Johnny’s sons and daughters.May the sod rest lightly on your dear head Johnny.
