Sam Moffett with Karl Atkinson on the notes made it 2 from 2 in the Triton showers national rally championship as they took victory at yesterdays (Sunday 26th) Midland Moto stages rally in Longford .
The Ford Fiesta WRC crew had over a minute to spare from the similar car of defending champions Roy white and James O’Brien with Manus Kelly and Gareth Doherty completing the top 3 in their Subaru WRC.
The Monaghan pairing of Niall Maguire and Enda Sherry were 4th overall and took the Class 7 win while Adrian Hetherington and Andrew Grennan took the modified honours and 5th overall in their class 14 escort.
David Guest and Paddy Robinson were the group N winners and 8th overall in their Mitsubishi EVO while the Trition showers drive of the day went to Gary Mc Namee and Dean O Sullivan who took 8th overall and the class 11F win in their Honda Civic.
The Junior rally was won by Johnny Treanor and Adrian Foley also in a Civic with Michael Boyle and Dermot Mc Cafferty 2nd and Jason Black with Jack Mc Kenna on the notes followed up their good run on Achill Island in the Toyota Starlet by taking 3rd overall.
The next round of the national championship is the Monaghan stages rally on April 23rd.
