200-year-old mill in Drogheda destroyed by a fire overnight

A 200-year-old mill has been gutted by a fire in Drogheda, Co Louth overnight.

Donaghy’s Mill beside the River Boyne was built in 1820, and was home to the pirate station Boyneside Radio in the seventies.

The mill had long since been abandoned, but local people gathered in sadness as the iconic building was engulfed with flames.
