54 forestry applications have been granted in the Shannonside Northern Sound region so far this year.
Monaghan TD Matt Carthy recently asked Minister for Agriculture Dara Calleary for a county by county breakdown of these numbers, and whether he had any statement on the matter.
The figures show Roscommon has had the highest number of applications granted in up to the 30th of June this year at 31, with Longford coming in next with 17 and Leitrim slightly lower on 16.
In Cavan 14 applications have been granted, putting it marginally behind counties in the Shannonside region.
However, Monaghan so far this year, has had the least amount of applications approved on 6.
Minister Calleary has stated that he is giving consideration to further legislative amendment which would improve the efficiency of the FAC's operations.
