Over 80 tractors from Cavan and Monaghan have travelled to Dublin this morning to protest at the Dail.

The protest outside Leinster House is getting underway around now and is being led by groups of independent farmers and members of businesses and companies from around rural Ireland.

Pat O’Toole from the Irish Farmers’ Journal stated that while it was about beef price at first, the protests are now about all of rural Ireland and the need to protect it.

From Dublin Longford farmer and Fine Gael councillor Pauraic Brady said that today’s protest was also about the mistrust farmers have of MII.
