Agriculture Minister says beef package payments will be only going to small farmers

The Minister for Agriculture says the €100 million beef package payments will be going to local farmers.

Michael Creed confirmed factories won’t be in line to benefit from the deal struck with the EU Commission. The Government is expected to match the €50 million to support Ireland’s beef sector, and pay out to farmers by autumn.

Speaking to Northern Sound, Minister Michael Creed said the small farmers hardest hit by falling beef prices will compensated.
