Almost 120 houses have been allocated to tenants on social housing lists in counties Cavan and Monaghan since the start of the year.
Figures released by the local authorities show 79 new tenancies in Monaghan and 35 in Cavan. Castleblayney-Carrickmacross MD saw the highest number of tenancies commenced with 33, with 25 commencing in Monaghan MD.
Cavan-Belturbet MD had the highest number of houses allocated in County Cavan with 22. Elsewhere, Ballybay-Clones had 21 new tenancies, Bailiborough-Cootehill had 8, and Ballyjamesduff MD had 5.
In the same six month period, 260 new applicants were added to the housing lists across the Northern Sound region, 130 in both counties.
