Almost €32,000 in funding allocated to local first responder groups

Almost €32,000 in funding has been allocated to local first responder groups.

The four groups will receive the funding under the Clár programme for new equipment.

Shercock First Responders will receive €15,910, the largest allocation in Cavan and Monaghan.

That funding will go towards new defibrillators and cabinets.

Kilcogy First Responders is to get €5,500, with St Oliver’s First Responders in Oldcastle receiving just over €5,000.

The Latton Bawn group is the only in one Monaghan to receive funding. It’s been allocated €2,490 for new training equipment and safety jackets.

The announcement has been welcomed by local TD Heather Humphreys and Senator Joe O’Reilly.
