Ambulance crews in Cavan and Monaghan could strike over HSE union dispute

The union representing local ambulance workers says it won’t rule out strike action if a dispute with the HSE can’t be solved.

Up to 500 ambulance workers around the country are imposing a ban on overtime from today while the HSE refuses to recognise the union they’ve chosen to join. The ambulance personnel branch of the Psychiatric Nurses Association has consistently grown its membership since it formed in 2010.

Speaking to Northern Sound News, General Secretary of the PNA Peter Hughes said services in Cavan and Monaghan could be affected by the latest phase of action.
